Despite Mack’s reluctance, a talk with his uncle Dan changes his perspective, leading the family north instead of south. They find shelter with eccentric herons Erin and Harry in New York City, where they befriend a parrot named Delroy. The journey takes an unexpected turn when they stumble upon a duck farm paradise.
